Sports
Sport is an integral part of Dair House. With such extensive and private facilities immediately accessible, all our children regularly take part in an extensive range of sports.
From Reception to Year 6, our children have two lessons of Games and two lessons of PE each week. In Years 2 and 3 our children also have one lesson of swimming each week for all three terms of the school year; whilst Year 4 swim in the Autumn, Year 5 in the Spring and Year 6 in the Summer.
We develop the children’s skills and abilities in the following sports: rugby, football, hockey, netball, rounders, cricket, tennis, athletics, dance and gymnastics.
PE and Games are taught by specialist teachers.
We have an extensive fixture programme for our children from Year 3 to Year 6 in all sports against other independent and state schools.
House competitions are organised throughout the year, whilst in the Summer term we also have a competitive sports day for all the children at Dair House.
We seek to ensure that all our pupils will represent Dair House in one or more sports.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR SPORT
We take great pride in providing such an extensive extra-curricular sports programme throughout the year that involves external coaches providing expert teaching in the following sports: kickboxing, tennis, football, golf, gymnastics, table tennis, dance and fencing.
